After all you got to the Island where there is an active volcano. Fogo is probably the most unique of all the territories that make up Cabo Verde. An island made of lava that witnesses the various rages of the imposing volcano, the last one was in 2014.
WHERE TO STAY
The main city, São Filipe, has a wide range of hotels to receive visitors. There are also guest houses located in the old colonial houses. Mosteiros has some pensions. If you intend to spend the night near the volcano, there are small hotels and private houses in Chã das Caldeiras.

The island of Fogo is rich in gastronomic and restoration offer. There are several must-taste typical dishes. Always accompanied by the famous Fogo wine.
The best souvenirs to take away from Fogo are its traditional flavors. You can find the organic coffee produced on the
island, in various shops and markets, both in S. Filipe and in the Mosteiros. Fogo’s wine is also available for sale in several commercial establishments or in the wine cellar of the cooperative of Chã das Caldeiras. There are also handicraft pieces made with volcano stones for sale in the natural park.
