The Museum was inaugurated in February of 2000 and it is housed in a 19th century restored building that was once used as a government building. It is located in the heart of the city of Assomada, with an estate that tells the story of the village as well as of the municipality of Santa Catarina. It also displays objects related to Tabanka musical ritual.


Working hours: Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (without interruption) .
